The new timetable for the Citi 7 service is now available. Click here to download a copy.
Key points to note include:
- no services down Cambridge Road except during the daytime outside the morning and evening rush hours, Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays;
- service frequency reduced from 6/hour to 4/hour; and
- earliest bus runs later and does not connect with the 07.15 train.

Whose bright idea was it to make the first bus leave later?! I will only JUST get to work on time now and cannot get into work at all on Saturday. Brilliant! How selfish this is. Don’t they realise that some people have to work on a Saturday?! It wouldn’t matter maybe if the cycle path were gritted, but it is an ice sheet in the winter and what with all the big puddles on the B1049, I would arrive at work not only frozen, but soaking wet as well! The service is all based on profit it would seem and yet how often are buses whizzing up and down in the daytime carrying only one or two passengers?
The 29 November timetable proposal will not now be implementd. The existing Citi 7 timetable will rbe operated whilst Stagecoach undertakes a full review of all its Citi services in the New Year. There is, therefore, still time to influence their thinking in respect of what should be provided on Citi 7.
The citi7 bus new timetable is to start on 29 November, but delays to the guided bus mean that those living in the Station Road/Cambridge Road area will have no bus service at all during peak times. Admittedly, these roads can be very slow at peak times, but it seems as if the new services are designed for those living further out of town, and this area of Histon/Impington is losing out. The guided bus is no substitute, since its route does not match the citi7 and even when it eventually enters service there will be no service south of the station. Please can the planners consider how those of us in Histon/Impington who use the citi7 for travel to Addenbrookes, schools on Long Road and Hills Road and villages to the south of the city can have a decent peak hour service? Rather than stopping on Station Road and Cambridge Road, could alternative peak hour bus stops be put on Bridge Road?
Have they abandoned the proposals completely now, rather than postponing? I’ve just had this e-mail:
“Thank you for your email however we wont be cutting the service from 6 to 4 buses an hour now or in the future .

I have spoken to Stagecoch MD Andy Campbell this morning. He confirms that there will be no changes to the Citi 7 bus times or routes until after the guided bus opens and he’s had a chance to see what it’s impact is.
